Privacy policy
What the Formation Theory game collects, why, and the choices you have. Written to be read, not skimmed past.
1. In short
- Your career is played on your phone. Your squad, tactics, matches and results are stored on the device and are never uploaded.
- The game's economy is online. Coins, your club's balance and the transfer market are kept on our server under an anonymous account the game creates for you.
- Signing in with Google is optional (it is needed only to buy coins). If you sign in we keep your Google email and name.
- The game shows ads by Google AdMob: ads that appear on their own during play, and rewarded ads you choose to watch. Consent is asked first where the law requires it.
- We do not sell your data, and the game has no analytics or tracking of its own.
This policy covers the Formation Theory game for Android (package com.formationtheory.game) and its game server (together, the “game”). The data controller is Viqron Yazılım Ltd.Şti. (“Viqron”, “we”, “us”), İstanbul, Turkiye. Our general privacy policy covers this website.
2. What stays on your device
The world, your career, your squad, every match and your settings are kept in the game's private storage on your phone. Datapacks you add stay there too. None of it is sent to us.
- The device also holds the game's sign-in tokens and, if you signed in, your Google email and name, so it can show you which account is in use.
- Android backup is turned off for the game, and uninstalling it removes everything it stored on the device.
3. What we collect
Only while Account sync is on (see section 12), and only the following. We collect it from you and your device; the only information we receive from another company is what Google sends when you sign in, buy coins or watch a rewarded ad.
An anonymous account
A random ID the game makes when it is first started (not your phone's hardware ID or advertising ID), which we store only in hashed form; the platform (Android); an account ID we assign; sign-in tokens; and when the account was created and last used.
Your Google account, if you sign in
Your Google account ID, your email address and your name. Nothing else: not your profile picture, your contacts, or access to your Google data. Signing in is optional, except to buy coins.
A summary of your career
Your manager name, your club, its league and country in the game, the season, and the money lines of your club's books (gate receipts, wages, prizes, transfers and building works).
Transfer market activity
The players you list, bid on, buy and sell, and the scouts and coaches you hire. The players themselves are invented by the game.
Coins, rewards and purchases
Your coin balance and its history, the daily gift, boosts, academy and stadium upgrades, rewarded ads you watched and coin packs you bought (see sections 5 and 6).
Server logs
For each request to our server: your IP address, the time, the address requested and the request's technical headers. Sign-in tokens are never written to the logs.
Messages you send us
If you write to us through our contact page - for support, or to ask for your data to be deleted - your name, email address and message, which reach us by email.
What we do not collect
- Analytics or tracking of how you play
- Crash reports
- Your location
- Contacts, photos, files, camera or microphone
- Payment card details
- Your phone number, birth date or address
- Passwords - the game has none
- Data from social networks
4. How we use it
| Why | What | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Run your account, coins, club balance and the transfer market | Account, career summary, market activity, coins and rewards | Providing the game you asked for |
| Let you reach your account from another device | Google account ID, email and name | Providing the game you asked for |
| Grant purchases and ad rewards exactly once | Purchase records, ad reward records | Providing the game; our legal obligations for purchase records |
| Show ads, personalised only where you agree | Handled by Google AdMob (section 5) | Personalised ads: your consent. Non-personalised ads: our legitimate interest in funding a free game, and your consent where the law requires it |
| Keep the service secure, prevent fraud and abuse, fix faults | Server logs, account timestamps | Our legitimate interest in a secure, working service |
| Answer your messages and requests | Messages you send us | Our legitimate interest; our legal obligations for rights requests |
We do not use your data for profiling, we make no automated decisions that affect you, and we do not send marketing emails.
5. Ads
- The game shows ads by Google AdMob, of two kinds:
- Ads shown during play - for example full-screen ads at natural breaks, such as between screens or after a match. You do not choose when these appear, and they can be closed or skipped once Google allows it.
- Rewarded ads - shown only when you choose to watch one for an in-game reward.
- Consent first. Where the law requires it (for example in the EU, the UK and Switzerland) the game shows Google's consent form before any ad is loaded. You can change your choice at any time under Settings → Account → Ad privacy.
- Google AdMob may use your device's advertising ID and other device information to show and measure ads, to limit how often you see the same ad, to prevent ad fraud, and to personalise ads where you have agreed. If you do not agree, or withdraw your consent, you still see ads, but they are not personalised. The game itself never reads the advertising ID.
- So that a reward is only granted for a rewarded ad that was actually watched, we send Google your anonymous account ID with the ad, and Google confirms the view to our server, which records the reward.
How Google uses this information: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
6. Purchases
Coin packs are bought through Google Play. Google handles the payment; we never see your card or payment details. Our server receives the product, the Google Play order number and the purchase token, checks the purchase with Google, grants the coins once, and keeps the record. Buying coins requires signing in with Google, so the coins can follow your account.
9. International transfers
We are based in Türkiye. Our server, our service providers and Google may store and process your data in other countries, including the United States and the European Union. Where the law requires it, such transfers rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, and on the procedures of Türkiye's Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK) for transfers abroad.
10. Security
- All communication between the game and our server is encrypted (HTTPS).
- The game's install ID and its long-term sign-in tokens are stored on our server only in hashed form; the tokens the game uses expire after fifteen minutes.
- On the phone, the game's data is kept in its private storage, which other apps cannot read.
- Access to our server and database is limited to the people who run the game.
No method of storing or sending data is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security. If a breach affecting your data occurs, we will inform you and the authorities as the law requires.
11. How long we keep it
- Your account, its Google sign-in details, career summary, coins and rewards are kept for as long as the account exists, and deleted when you ask us to delete it.
- Records of purchases may be kept longer where tax or consumer law requires it.
- Server logs are kept for a limited time for security and troubleshooting, then deleted by our hosting provider.
- Messages you send us are kept as long as needed to answer them and any follow-up.
- Transfer listings that ended without a bid are removed automatically.
12. Your choices
- Settings → Account → Account sync turns every network connection off. The career keeps working; the coins, the balance and the transfer market wait until it is on again.
- Settings → Account → Ad privacy reopens Google's consent form, where it applies, to change or withdraw your consent for personalised ads. Ads during play are part of the free game and cannot be turned off this way; rewarded ads are always your choice.
- Your advertising ID can be reset or deleted in your phone's Android settings (Privacy → Ads).
- Signing in with Google is your choice, and Sign out of Google in Settings disconnects the device from that account.
13. Deleting your data
- On your device: abandoning a career in Settings deletes it from the phone; uninstalling the game deletes everything it stored there.
- On our server: ask us through our contact page with the subject “Delete my Formation Theory account”. If you signed in with Google, use the same email address so we can find the account. We delete the account, its Google sign-in details, career summaries, coins, rewards and market activity, and confirm within 30 days. Purchase records the law requires us to keep are kept until that obligation ends.
- Sign out and Sign out of Google in Settings only disconnect the device: they do not delete the account.
14. Your rights
Depending on where you live - including under the EU and UK GDPR and Türkiye's Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK) - you may have the right to:
- know whether we process your data, and get a copy of it;
- have it corrected if it is wrong, or deleted;
- receive it in a portable format;
- object to or restrict how we use it;
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what was done before;
- learn who it was shared with, at home and abroad;
- claim compensation for damage caused by unlawful processing.
Contact us to use any of these rights; we answer within 30 days. You may also complain to your data protection authority - in Türkiye, the Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK); in the EU or UK, the authority where you live.
15. Children
Formation Theory is not directed at children under 13, or under the minimum age your country sets for agreeing to the use of personal data, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
16. Other services and links
The game links to other websites - such as this one and the sources of its sounds - and uses Google's services for signing in, purchases and ads. Those are governed by their own privacy policies, not this one, and we are not responsible for how they handle your data.
17. Changes and contact
If we change what the game collects or how we use it, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change reaches the game. Where the law requires your consent to a change, we will ask for it.
